Enviroline Ltd is a UK plastic recycling company that provides plastic recycling services to commercial customers.
In the main, we purchase baled plastic film but we also specialize in Rigid or Hard plastics as we have a wealth of experience in this field and all too often our clients have both types of materials they want our advice on.
Clear Film can also be referred to as Poly Film or PE Film or LDPE Film or Polythene Film as they are all pretty much the same thing. The clearer the bales of film the better the price but that’s not to say that other grades of Poly Film bales aren’t worth buying as they certainly are, it’s just that the price or value of the material from a recycling perspective is concerned, is lower.
So long as all the material in the bales is PE (Polyethylene) then we can always offer a good price for it but once you start to put other plastics like PP (Polypropylene) or PET (Polyester) in the bales then the price reduces significantly.
Therefore if you are making bales of film at your site to have them recycled then you would be advised by us to separate the different materials and bale them individually as that would make them far more commercially viable to recycling companies like us in order to get the very best price for them.
In a nutshell, plastic film is graded by its clarity and level of colour contamination. Therefore if you have bales of only clear film with no other coloured material in there except for the very odd paper label then that material is classed as 99:1. That means that 99% of the bale is just polythene film and about 1% is not.
This rating is then applied to all poly baled film that has greater amounts of coloured film in there. So 98/2 graded film has only 2% of other colour & labels in there with the rest of it being clear poly film.
Once you know this then it’s easy to work out what 95/5, 90/10 and even 80/20 material looks like.
The only other type of film bales we classify are Jazz Film, Silage Film and Printed Film on Reels
Below we have listed a selection of plastic film we will happily buy to recycle but if you are unsure then why not fill in the form on the right or give us a call to discuss what you have.
Plastic Film Recycling Grades
Minimum Quantity for Plastic Film Recycling
Recycling just one or two bales of film at a time isn’t very effective as often the transport cost in fuel and CO2 emissions will significantly outweigh the benefits but if you have a large load you need taking away to recycle then we would be in a position to offer you a decent return for them.
